Bringing the Community Together: Smyly Sickwitit Hosted National Night Out 2025 in Roslindale, MA.

🏢 On Monday, August 4, 2025, the heart of Roslindale came alive with music, laughter, and community spirit as National Night Out 2025 took over Washington-Beech Apartments. This year’s celebration was extra special — Roslindale’s very own Smyly Sickwitit didn’t just show up, he led the way, bringing his unwavering dedication to the neighborhood he loves.
🎶More Than Music — A Mission for Connection
Smyly Sickwitit, well-known throughout Boston, MA for his talent, energy, and commitment to uplifting others, once again proved why he is such a respected community figure. Whether on the mic, organizing events, or working behind the scenes, Smyly’s goal has always been to strengthen the bonds between neighbors, families, and local organizations.
National Night Out 2025 was the perfect platform for that mission. In partnership with Boston Police Area E-5, Trinity Management- Washington Beech Apartments and an incredible network of community supporters, Smyly helped create an evening that broke down barriers, connected residents with their local police, and radiated positivity and unity.
“When we show up for each other, we build more than a neighborhood — we build a family,” Smyly reminded attendees during the event. “National Night Out isn’t just an event. It’s a reminder that we’re in this together.”

Special Appearances at the National Night Out
The Mayor’s Caravan arrived between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM to present community activist awards and speak to attendees, joined by several local elected officials eager to connect directly with residents.
Why It Mattered
Events like National Night Out aren’t just about fun — they are about investing in one another. They show that we care about each other, we care about our neighborhood, and we’re willing to put in the effort to make it stronger.
For Smyly Sickwitit, it was personal. Growing up in Roslindale, he has seen both the challenges and the beauty of the neighborhood. Hosting this event wasn’t just an honor — it was part of his ongoing commitment to give back.

We welcome business and individual donations. We will list our sponsors on this page. Unused funds, if any, will revert to the Boston Police Area "E" fund for future kid's events.
Donations to help offset the event's cost will be managed by the Roslindale Community School Council, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit as fiscal agent (same as past years). Donations (PayPal secure system) can be sent here with notations it is for National Night Out.
